Per the Vehicle Master Inquiry (VMI) Printout, my E500 includes the option code (OpCd):

"#987 : Battery Cutoff Switch"

...anyone know where this is located and what it is used for? I wonder if this switch is for longer term storage to prevent fatal battery drain???

fwiw- it also includes option code #810: Bose Premium Sound System (I know we discussed this Bose/non-Bose thing before- - but this is what is printed out on VMI)
