16 gauge fusable link on # 11

83 300sd

I am upgrading my #11 fuse. It handles the blower and compressor amongst other things.

I am confused about 1 wire on the cold (or receiving side) of the fuse.

It is a black 16 guage fusable link labeled "fuselink 16g".

It is wired from the cold side of # 11 to the cold side of #7. It is currently melting where it meets the cold #7.

When I upgrade to vstech's breaker box style fuse I need to know what to do with the fuselink.

It may very well be that a PO's mechanic did this and if that is the case, I would love to undo and put it as close to an MB style upgrade as possible without dropping 60$ for two wires and a fuse.
