Indie in Palweys Island

Just found a really nice indie. Palweys Island Motors, about 30 miles south of Myrtle Beach. The owner, Patrick, is a factory trained MB wrencher as is technician Chris . His labor rate is $70 an hour, a lot less than the $96 I paid in Atlanta.

Replaced my water pump, oil change with filter, valve adjustment, new valve cover gasket and replaced missing wavy washers on valve cover studs, replaced crush washers on three banjo bolts on tranny (stopped leaks!), tranny fluid change with pan gasket and filter, repaired a slight leak in injector #1, set injector timing, replaced high beam indicator light bulb, repaired crankcase vent tube (no more smoke), stopped a huge oil leak by tightening the bolts on the oil filter housing, fixed some minor interior problems, bill was just under $800.00.

Interesting shop....Pat is also a Rolls Royce/Bentley mechanic and restores weird cars like Citroen.

Also, I can't say enough good things about Turner's Glass Shop in Myrtle Beach. Installed a new windshield and seal on my 300CD and did a fantastic job! There was a tiny bit of rust under the old cracked and leaking seal and they ground it down, filled it in and used their special rust prevention paint on it before installing. It is not an easy job on these old Benz's but they did it to perfection.

Also watched them do a glass job on a fairly new Ferrari....nice work!
