2.88:1 diff from an SDL will work fine...... it will make actual use of first gear instead of just a creeper gear.
A member here has that done, but his user handle slips my mind. I will try to remember.
I am going to do it once my head is rebuilt and I get my converter restalled so the car can actually get a decent launch around town.
