300E Stall--Vapor Lock????
Our 300E has started stalling in hot weather at slow speeds or when left idling and coolant temperature rises. Started happening after major overhaul of AC system. Replaced both fuel pumps as this seemed to be causing problem, but problems srtill exists. Plenty of spark and fuel pumps are working. It seem like there is a fuel vapor lock (too much fuel) that makes it stall when engine gets real hot. Will restart if I wait 3-5 minutes. Starts easier if I put gas pedal to the floor. Looking for any suggestions. Could it be air flow meter, which My car does'nt seem to have, fuel pressure regulator, idle valve, water temp gauge sensor, fuel pump relay, overload protection relay, EGR valve, or something as simple as the thermostat/antifreeze?????
