CEL came on because the ecu 'Knows' the valve was not present....(Not connected electrically, as it wasnt there right?
This valve is NOT the way the engine is stopped by!
The engine stop is achieved by the ECU putting the pump rack into 'o' fuel position.
The SOV is a Safety Switch for the fuel. IF the engine should over-rev unexpectedly--and not under the control of the ECU and for more than a pre-set time--seconds prolly-- as in a 'stuck rack' in the IP, Then the fuel supply to the pump is closed off, to prevent accidents and to prevent engine destruction by over-revving.
