Temp fix you describe will work until you can get the correct fuse. Bridging it for a moment to test the fan should work. Be warned though, I'm an owner like you and not a mechanic...

Thanks again. I pulled a 30amp fuse from an old Land Rover that actually screws into place somewhat similar, works fine. I'll order a new one. Thanks again for the help....
