The 8-hole wheel IIRC came 1 year earlier (92?) on the coupe than on the sedan & wagon, and the US 4matic never got the 8-hole (or the M104). The 8-hole wheel is ET44 which is also compatible, and necessary if you want to run the later 4-puck brakes.
I have a set of 5 '87 wheels in IN if you want them, ... cheap, another set in Michigan, closer to free. Don't want to ship though.

WRT to W124 only....
1. Eight hole wheels were on the 400E (and maybe the 500E) from introduction (MY92 for 400E). Not standard across the line until 1994.
2. I've had trouble in the past fitting newer (cast) 15 hole wheels to my 87 300TD. They would rub on the front brakes.
3. For 15 hole wheels, the radiused holes indicate forged wheels, the more rectanglular holes are cast wheels.
4. Cast 15 hole wheels were fitted on W124 from at least 1989 on.
