Plus the 3.8 liter and 4.2 liter V8's are both M116 engines, so they share the same basic architecture, and possibly fuel injection systems.

Engine codes are:

81 380 SEL - 116.961
82-83 380 SEL - 116.963

86-91 420 SEL - 116.965
