On my SDL (older car) the OVP Relay was failing and that caused the light to come on. You can also unplug the ABS module and clean the contacts on the connectors.

I do agree that the problem in your case is most likely wiring at the wheels. Maybe the sensor wire just came loose after the work was done.

Maybe the toothed wheel or the magnet on the sensor needs to be cleaned.

Does the ABS still function if you panic stop the car?
