There are a lot of posts on this board about the early 300e cars.
The 5 speed works fine as Larry Bible will confirm. My car went
well over 200,000 miles before the original clutch was replaced.
The car now has 258K and may need a synchro gear or two.
I would recommend the 300e 5 speed over a similar 190e. The
back seat is small enough in the 300e; it is hardly there in the
190e.
