Yes, it is the damper, I can see the fluid drip out of the bottom hole I described in origianl post. The $25 cost is right on plus shipping - have it on order. Should be a piece of cake - two bolts. I don't know what I was thinking in orginal post as last car I had that had a power steering actuator cylinder attached to steering linkage was '69 Mustang which I spent a lot of this past winter rebuilding engine (351C) and readying the car for sale - sold in March, I believe.
