More then just keeping the SRS happy, you also have to be sure the old seatbelt buckle will latch into the new seat's latch. Just test the old seatbelt buckle with an ohm meter, that will let you know if you can just jumper the connection.

Keep in mind that the computer looks at the seatbelt switch to determine the threshold for firing the airbag, ~7mph without the seatbelt buckled, ~14mph with. If the seatbelt is not buckled it will not fire the tensioner.
