Well the forum is mostly populated by persons who are DIY types.
If you had to lump all of the good or bad shop stories together and give them all an average rating (1-10 scale 10 being perfect) for honesty, competence and service. What do you think it would be.
Part of the preference is DIY it and maybe pay for your own mistakes or go to a shop and maybe pay (most likely a lot more) for someone elses mistakes.
