The cheepie meters can be picked up from ebay all the time. The ohms scale is where most have problems of being blown so while you are buying... buy 2 or 3.

I bought 8 from ebay 3 or 4 yrs ago with the sellers disclaimer of unknown condition in mind. Of the 8, 6 worked. Delivered cost on the 8 was about $15.
