Update...just got the car back from the shop (Overby's)and here is what they stated

"dye was evident at the compressor, the expansion valve and the evaporator drains. customer to determine how long it takes for freon to leak out and advise. "

the service advisor said it may leak out in a couple days, a few eeks or even six months.

they used 1.5 lbs of 134a, they stated it has a 2.2 lbs system capacity.


they recommended a new evaporator at $2000 installed and a new compressor at $1400 installed both with 1 year warranty

thats a lot of green

any thoughts from anyone? recommend any in the Jacksonville, FL area for a second opinion?
