my cousin thinks the door speakers are actually a waste of money..in that they do not really help with sound due to their crappy obstructed location...the only way to utilize the door would be if you had speakers closer to the front (towards the front of the car) of the door panel...otherwise, the sound gets absorbed or muted by the bodies or seats....
