Pushed the emergency brake on my trusty '83 240D and heard this SPROIiNG noise as my foot went to the floor. Not sure about the spelling of the noise, but I have a feeling that a cable of some sort broke.

Anyone out there like to confirm that and then tell me that it's an easy job to fix??
