I've never seen a spin-on filter setup in 25 years of working on MB diesels. However Earl's sells a remote kit that installs on the inner fender. I've seen these on Volvo turbos where changing filters makes a mess. You would have to remove the filter adaptor and have the holes tapped to accept plumbing fittings that would adapt to their kit. It sounds involved but it really should not be a big deal and after that what a relief to not go thru that mess that I'm more than a little familiar with. Good luck! Give us a shout if your successful.
