This is exactly what I was thinking for my W126 300SDl. There is so much open space. I could clock the compressor to exit down and plumb under the alternator to an AAIC inside the bumper. The other side would travel along a similar path to the intake manifold on the drivers side. Blocking off the stock inlet and cut/fab/tig a new inlet that would accept an appropriately sized silicone coupling.

What the exact benefit would be? Just slightly cooler intake charge. not sure if we see much performance benefit without and increase in boost and fuel delivery. Its a start.
