Hi All!

I've seen several posts here on how to increase the performance of the Diesel cars. I have a 1984 300D TurboDiesel and many of the posts have suggested tweaking with the Wastegate and ALDA controllers and removing the trap oxidizer to improve diesel performance.

I understand that some tweaks will shorten the diesel engine's life. Most independent MBZ mechanics won't touch the Wastegate or ALDA controllers. But since my car is 18 years old, I'm sure the Wastegate and ALDA controllers are out of adjustment and was wondering whether any of you know of a mechanic or do it yourselfer who lives in the San Francisco Bay Area and who can diagnose/tweak the Wastegate and ALDA controllers to improve performance a bit or at least put it back to factory specifications. I'm not too technically minded, mind you, so thats that purpose of my asking.
