I was out picking blueberries in a section of woods that we have recently cleared out and I had the dogs with me. They stay in the area and were doing the usual this morning. After a while they get into some pretty heavy brush and all of a sudden I hear them go to raising all kinda heck and here they come running out of the underbrush with the yellow lab hauling arse, followed by the black lab hauling arse followed by a coyote about the size of the yellow lab. I hollared out while reaching for the pistol that I keep with me and the coyote turned and saw me. Took a couple shots at it knowing it would be hard to hit him because of the distance and the fact that he was hauling butt back into the underbrush. Yesterday I saw three young deer come out of the brush in the area where he was located so I suspect he's sniffing them out.
