CRT (glass) monitors seem to last forever. Newest CRT we have here is a 2004 model. Trouble with them is that they slowly degrade and you don't realize how bad they are until the eyestrain is killing you. The LCDs we have are dying after 5 years or so. That's ok, after 5 years of constant use the CRTs aren't worth looking at either.
