Much to my horror , the trunk would not open when I turned the key to open the trunk . I went onto the formus and saw that others have the same problem . After a considerable amount of time coaxing the lock, it would not open. Then I said a few prayers, and voila, it opened. Once I got the trunk open, I examined the lock mechanism from the inside (take off the lip cover and move the carpet away to expose the locking area.) By turning the key, I can see that the cam was not dis-engaging the double-lock pin mechanism . This was preventing the trunk from unlocking. And so, I disconnected the pin mechanism, tied it securely with a tie-wrap (to prevent the loose pin from interferring with the lock, and then closed the trunk and tried the lock. Presto! It is fine now. However, one cannot double lock the trunk anymore. To fix this, change the lock. Hope this helps. Thanks. All the best.
