Any oil job in interesting. The only bad thing about them is the security of the job. When the price of oil drops so do jobs in the industry.

Right now there is a lot of whining about 'job killing regulations' which is rather overblown. Every oil company in the US is used to working with regulations and I have never seen a regulation that would stop a project that was viable.

I have seen low oil prices slam the door on a lot of oil businesses, though.

If you interested in doing this type of work, and like I said it is very interesting as well as well paying, then try to get on with a major or a mini-major. If you are in the oil field service business you will be the first to feel the pinch when there is a drop in oil prices.
