The manual specifies dwell versus a gap setting. The dwell angle is basically the % of time open versus closed. You need a meter to measure it right. I found that the performance difference when using the manual specified dwell setting versus 5 degrees off is surprisingly big as far as performance and economy. If you have a dwell meter, I'd suggest using it as the way to go versus doing a gap setting, but 0.030 is not a bad base number to run on... just won't get you the same performance, from my experience, as the manual's suggested dwell.

I don't have my manual handy but if memory serves it's about 32° +/- 2°.
