Putting the supply and return into a bottle is really no different than the stock setup. The only difference is there is a coarse screen in the tank to catch the big gunk. When you put both lines in a bottle of diesel purge your supply side it still getting filtered through the pre and secondary filters, that is if your remove the lines from the steel lines that go to the tank. If you only stick the supply into the bottle all your return fuel will go into the tank, and you'll run through the diesel purge in no time. The injection pump actually supplies the injectors with way more fuel then they need, so if the supply and return aren't in the same bottle you'll empty the bottle in a hurry, and not get the full affect of the diesel purge that goes into the tank.
