Airpower is a mighty thing.
As I've always said, my hat's off to the boots on the ground guys. I'm too old for that business, but appreciate the sacrifices those fellows make. When I was in Kyrgyzstan a couple of years ago, we were having a beer at the little club there, and a Marine started giving one of our guys all kinds of grief. To be fair, his buddies told him to knock it off, but he kept at it. His NCOIC (or someone of rank, anyway) slapped the side of his head and asked if he liked having air support while he was in A-stan. When he replied in the positive, his boss said "then **** the f*** up."
I like what I do. I'm not even remotely burnt out on it, and have been at it for 11 years now. Can't say I'd be able to 11 years of infantry, but I sure as hell appreciate those who do (and have)!
