Yes shertex, you're right. Out of respect for you, I want to complete my thought about your pump question before I leave.

The later pumps are more robust, and I've never heard of one losing a roller and depositing it in the crankcase to do it's potential damage. Due to the design change, however, I don't think they are as vocal before failure as is the pump on the 616/617 engine. On those, you would hear it complain long before it would let go. As long as you answered it's complaint you could head off the problems at the pass.
