The shop that was at my place when I moved there had a dirt floor. I removed and overhauled the engine in my '68 MB 230 four speed car. I was there a couple of years before pouring a concrete floor. I now have a bigger shop that I made by pouring a concrete floor in my hay barn, since I didn't bail square any more.
You just make do with what ya' got.
