A friend of mine retired from a state job in Texas after 35 years. He is drawing what I would consider a good but understandable and deserved pension.

He was offered a job with a county where he would work two years and then draw $65,000 in a pension from the county. He found this to be amazing so he looking into it.

It seems that his state employment can be combined with any other gov employment in Texas and he would then be credited with 37 years of service from the other gov branch.

He turned it down since he thought the whole deal sounded like a scam on the taxpayers, but he could understand why others might do it.
