You will have to have the onboard self-diagnostics monitored. If you really feal up to it I can tell you how to read the codes on your car with a logic probe or led. 1994 is the last year impulse counting was used except for a few systems.
As long as the system has that level of code it will stay in the "limp home" mode, which limits throttle range and backs off ignition timing.
