He towed it back home. He stopped at a shop on the way and they told him the engine was locked up. I haven't had a chance to look at it yet. He has decided to find a used engine to swap in. He wouldnt mind having the V8 if we can find one and make it work. I'm going to get on to the Jeep forums and do some asking over there.

He decided to buy a 2012 TDI (but keep the jeep to tow his boat).
