No problem. Just switch over to "Thin Mint" Girl Scout cookies instead of wafers for a week or so.
And yes, you are correct, "three or four days" IS being optimistic. The exposed areas of your hands will shed but that stuff will stay in the wrinkles, cracks and folds of your hands for a good week. Sigh, I know, I did the same thing before a wedding where I was giving away the bride.
