MB replaced wiring harnesses under a "goodwill" program for cars with under 100K miles. Dealerships were not required to abide by this program, so some did this cheerfully while others required "pulling teeth" to do so.
Three years ago, my harness was replaced by the dealer free of charge after I was experiencing severe loss of performance.
I admire your ability to take on such a daunting task! Mine is about due for replacement, but I am holding off until it becomes problematic (overheating, copious leaking, oil in coolant, etc.).
I thought about doing it myself...until I saw your pics (YIKES)
