This job is no fun....You need room to see and work if you want to change the ignition switch. I did this last year because ignition tumber froze up. Replaced both switch and lock cylinder.
I took the instrument cluster completely off after
taking off the bolster (pad by your knees,airbag and steering wheel.) Be sure to change all your bulbs when you have the instrument cluster out. It's easier to do this now than later. They don't cost that much and its not worth the hassle if a bulb burns out later. It is was hard to get
the plug off the switch. Be careful that you do not damage it on removal. A lighted mirror was
handy to use under the dash to see what I was getting into.
