Is 420SEL tranny the same internally as 300SD tranny?
The transmission in my 89 420SEL diesel swap is getting tired. I've got about 380K on the tranny,which was in my 84 SD. The original tranny that was in the 420 has only about 130K on it. I'm thinking I can maybe swap out trannys if the need arises, keeping the diesel torque converter of course. Are there any differences between gas and diesel trannys? Valve body?
