Just made an account to ask a quick question and see if anyone else knew anything on this topic.

So my dad runs a retail business online where he sells car related goods and was asked by a customer in China to try and get several types of Mercedes parts for him. He contacted a bunch of Mercedes parts suppliers to buy parts and was given the runaround and told he couldn't buy the parts for resale, only if he brought the car in to an authorized dealer. The whole thing seemed odd to me. So I looked into it for him and found out that they are restricting the parts market in Europe:

Is anyone else having this problem here in the US where they can't get access to parts? Any indys out there who know about this? I'm just trying to figure out if they are doing this in the US too. Seems pretty shady if you ask me.
