83 240D Shifting into Reverse binds very badly.

My 1st, 2nd and 3rd Gears shift effortlessly.
MY Reverse shift makes me nervous.
When I have to shift into reverse, the shift is very ugly and bumpy. I feel some resistance and most of all I feel some thing isnt mechanically right, as if there is a lot of friction and binding going on, or something is happening that shouldnt be happening.

My slave cylinder is new and works fine and is adjusted very well.
All 3 engine mounts are brand new as is the transmission mount.

I think the problem is in the 3 linkages that control the shift. Do they need adjustment? There are 3 linkages; 1, 2 and 3 counting from the front of the manual transmission to the back that can be lengthened or shortened.

How should I adjust them? My service CD has no transmission coverage.
