hmmm, I wouldn't discount the need for a new timing chain either. A new chain wouldn't be a bad idea anyway if you have no idea when, if ever it was "re-newed", having learned the hard way they can and do break sometimes, often with catastrophic results, I'd give it some serious thought because a new chain can improve performance and fuel economy at least to some degree.
