Gas Pedal "dead pedal" Specifications
On my 1995 C280, the gas pedal seems generally quite normal. However, there is about 1/2 inch (est. ?) after pushing the pedal until the time that it actually gives gas. The only qualm I have with this is that it often makes the initial acceleration quite jerky.
I think that this might be just the way the car was designed.
I know that later model Mercedes with the 5 spd auto (722.4) have an even, yet much lighter feeling gas pedal.
My question:
Is that small amt (>10% of total throttle movement) of 'dead pedal' normal? Or is there an adjustment for this? Maybe the linkage just needs lubing?
1995 C280, 130k miles.
Thanks!
