I would be more concerned about the inlet and outlet size of the Oil Cooler Tubing where the Hoses attach. If they are smaller than the original it could restrict the Flow.
You might post what happend to your origina Oil Cooler. It might be someone knows a repair for it.
The other issue is where to mount a none stock Oil Cooler.

had a run-in with ditch. i took the original one in for repair but they couldnt do a good job at it plus i need to replace the hose fittings. i stripped them off because for some reason they were soldered/brazed onto the cooler. i'd like to get mb parts put paying 200 per hose plus 400 for the cooler aint gonna happen.
so theres a built in oil thermostat? that simplifies everything.
