Awesomemobile #2 doesn't have working AC so I'm about to tackle it.
I'm very happy with the OT conversion on my car. I'm getting vent temps in the upper 30's low 40's and the hi side pressures are really low. It was in the 80's today and it was a knuckle freezer in the benz.
Anyway, I'm planning on running an R4 this time and keeping the tube/fin condenser. Hopefully the lower operating pressures with the OT will agree with the R4 more than the throttling action of the TXV. It will also be a lot easier than making a bracket for a different type of compressor.
