The only springs attached to the fuel system are the ones associated with the throttle linkages.
Did you take the Fuel distributor apart?

yes I was curious and needed to know if the diaphragm was OK, so I split the unit to inspect. as I said three of the springs that sit on top of the diaphragm fell out as I moved the unit. now I understand that these are tension specific for each port so that you have equal fuel pressure to each injector. My thought about the pressure is that when testing each port i can tell if they are of uniform pressure and in this manner I could make adjustments. what do you think of that?
