Headliner replacement -- E300D
With Jeff's advice and photos I had a fairly easy job removing and replacing the sagging headliner of my '95 E300D. Cleaning the goo off of the old headliner was probably the biggest part of the job. Rags and lacquer thinner got the job done. A local upholstery shop applied new headliner fabric for $60 complete. It isn't Mercedes fabric but only an expert can tell as the color match is near perfect (besides, who looks closely at their headliner?). Since a new Mercedes headliner is now $600, I felt that this was a very acceptable compromise.
