Lightbulb yep...

So, this seems to be a problem with some aging cars. It happened to my '88 Sterling 825SL (austin rover) and it just happened to my '90 300E. What happens is the paint on the needle gets a little "tacky" and can stick to the resting post until you flick the instrument cluster with your finger or you go over a bump big enough to dislodge it. What I did was take out the speedometer, and then using a small brush, I "painted" on a small amount of super glue to the bottom edge of the needle. This then creates a permanent and invisible hard surface that will not stick to anything. Now my speedo needle never sticks. -- Mike
