we had a 66 bug, ran great and loved it. Sold it to my brother and he ran it until he got married, and his wife wanted something fancy. Bought it back but never had the time to restore it so sold it again just s few years ago. My father had a 67 bug (new) when we were kids. He ran it till the engine blew. Had it about 7-8 years. He had it up to 90mph once.

No not in the same class as the Mercedes, but certainly a nice car to drive, and just had the right charm to it.
