First thing to check is that the timing chain has been converted to double row, early 380's had a single row chain which WILL fail. Look through the oil fill cap at the chain, if its not a double row of links, it needs to be converted asap.

Primary differences between US and Euro are the exhaust, fuel settings/components/power output. Physically they are mostly the same. A euro 380 will have quite a bit more power than a US model.
