603 crossover tube into an intercooler...

I recently purchased a small transmission cooler, to get some fittings for my truck... the cooler is only about 6" long, and 3" wide... I was wondering if I could use it for a water to air intercooler...
I figure a hole machined into the crossover tube to fit the cooler in, and an aux pump attached to a small radiator, and fill it with antifreeze mixture... no?
I think the back pressure could be an issue. also, I didn't think it would be a large enough surface area to significantly reduce the charge temp...
what say you experts?
