Check the owners manual, I'm not sure abount the model but most fuel injected cars have an inertia switch that shuts of the fuel pump circuit if the car has been hit hard , so the fuel will not continue to be pumped in a collision. My Ford Taurus had one in the trunk. Maybe call a Benz dealership.
